CD Release of Man + Guitar: Volume 1 - What is so different about this CD?
Art
The artwork was designed by Albert Treskin, who has designed album art for Herbie Hancock, Chic Corea and over 25 other artists on the Concord Jazz Label.
The Physical CD
Each CD has been cryogentically treated for better playback quality. In addition, CD art on the CD itself has been lightscribed, that is, the art has been burned onto the face of the CD with a laser. There is no printed matter or label on the CD itself, rendering the CD at its purest specification.
Recording
Each song has been recorded as a takeaway, with no edits, overdubs, and virtually no processing or mixing. There are no effects.
Performance
One singer, one guitar, one microphone, one recording.
Mastering
Minimal manipulation of the recording. In addition, a proprietary mastering technology not digital in nature and the first of its kind, has been used to create the master recording in an effort to be as true to the original recordng as authentically possible with all the imperfections that accompany it.
CD cover
Each cover of the limited edition has been hand-letterpressed by Stephanie Clark of Dahlia Press in Seattle, Washington. Each cover of the limited edition has been signed and numbered by the recording artist. Only one hundred of this type have been made, along with 15 artist proofs. Even so, the album cover is make of 100% recycled materials.
Music
All songs are original songs written and performed by Mino Christante. Songs span over a 32 year period of writing and were recorded over the last two years.
